Desert Foothills Land Trust’s 16th Annual “Sonoran Stars” Fundraiser Set for April 30 at Rancho Mañana

bar j wranglersCAVE CREEK – As the sun sets on the evening of Saturday, April 30, guests of the Desert Foothills Land Trust’s 16th Annual “Sonoran Stars” will be transported back to the spirit of the Old West amid the beautiful landscape they hope to preserve. Some 500 guests are expected to attend the popular fund-raising event, set “Under Western Skies," at Rancho Mañana Golf Club, 5734 E. Rancho Mañana Blvd., in Cave Creek. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and entertainment by The Bar J Wranglers, a Classic Western band of “singing cowboys” that draws nightly crowds of 750 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The popular band is making its first appearance in the Valley.

Thanks to the generosity of Beyond Your Roots Salon and Black Mountain Fitness, the Boy Scout Troop 15 of Cave Creek will be having its semi-annual rummage sale at the El Palenque building in downtown Cave Creek.

Barro’s Pizza, located in the center, has offered shoppers $2 off a large pizza on the days of the sale, Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. 4 p.m.

Come shop your hearts out and support your local Boy Scouts – and Cub Scout Pack 134’s Scouting for Stuff Rummage Sale is at Cave Creek American Legion #34, 6272 E Cave Creek Rd. the same weekend.

Green Cave Creek and Desert Foothills Library celebrate Earth Day April 23

Recycling, shredding and learning activities for the community

Event: Earth Day Cave Creek.

When: 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 23.

What: Earth Day Cave Creek is a free event at the Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek that will host a variety of entertaining and Earth conscious programs.

The library’s itinerary includes book signings and talks, documentaries, eco friendly eating, recycling stations, arts and crafts, green healing and more!

Highlights:
•10:30 a.m. – 2:30 a.m. Showings each hour of the new Kilowatt Ours, a brilliant and humorous award-winning documentary about energy conservation.
•10:20 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - On-site electronics recycling disposal and document shredding.
•2:30 p.m. - Kids will love Rattlesnake Rules and Don’t Call Me Pig! (A Javelina Story). Stories read by award-winning author Conrad J. Storad.
