Scottsdale seeks to fill board and commission vacancies

SCOTTSDALE – The City of Scottsdale is recruiting citizens to fill vacancies on nine advisory bodies that consider issues and provide recommendations to the city council.

Applications are being accepted through Thursday, Dec. 24 for vacant positions on the Housing Board, Human Relations Commission, Human Services Commission, Library Board, Loss Trust Fund Board, Neighborhood Enhancement Commission, Planning Commission, Scottsdale Pride Commission, and the Transportation Commission.

Applications and information about the functions of these advisory bodies is available at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/boards. Applications may also be obtained by calling 480-312-2412, or may be picked up in person at the City Clerk’s Office inside City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The Mayor and City Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Jan. 11.  Those nominated will be interviewed at the Jan. 25 City Council meeting.  Following the interviews, the Mayor and City Council will appoint selected residents to three-year terms.
