Eighth annual Luminaria Run on Dec. 4

CAVE CREEK – It's going to be another "beautiful night for a run" on Dec. 4 when the eighth Cave Creek Luminaria Run takes off!  A new exciting partnership has taken over this race. Long-standing volunteer support organization, Key Club (a service organization of the Carefree/Cave Creek Kiwanis) has taken the reins. Proceeds from the event will support the Desert Foothills Christmas Pageant, Key Club and other area non-profit organizations. Key Club has some exciting things in the works to ensure the Luminaria Run is better than ever.

COURSE:
Luminaria Run is returning to its original course in Cave Creek with friendly faces along the way and lots of fun (as usual).  Visit usatf.org for both the 3.77-mile and 2-mile routes

PACKET Pickup:
There will be no advanced packed pickup this year. Packet pickup will be available on race day at the site beginning at 3:45 p.m.

Desert Awareness Committee hike Dec. 9

The Desert Awareness Committee (DAC) is leading a hike to a petroglyph site in the New River area on Thursday, Dec. 9. The hike is rated as easy and is a distance of 5.6 miles roundtrip. Please meet at the Lowe’s parking lot at the corner of Cave Creek Rd. and Carefree Highway at 9 a.m. Please bring water and have proper clothing and shoes for hiking on trails. There is no charge for this hike but DAC is asking that you bring an item for their “Necessitree.” These items include toiletries, diapers, and toilet paper.
