Leonard's "Quinella" dismounts Chargers!

Falcs, seeded #9, travel to #8 Apollo, Nov. 12

thomas larsonTEMPE – I believe a “quinella” in race track jargon, means picking five winners. For Falcons vs. McClintock, on the Chargers’ Senior Night, “quinella” meant five touchdowns scored by John Leonard, four on receptions from Bryce Kinsler (27 of 35 for 289 yds., five TDs, no INTs), and a 58-yard scoring runback of an interception with 29 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Tack on Nick Miller’s P.A.T. for a 48-13 lead at the end of three. It was Leonard’s seventh INT of the season.

volleyball'Slope sends Volleyball home; Congrats to large CSHS crowd!

CSHS – On Nov 2, #16 Raymond S. Kellis was not supposed to beat #1 Cactus Shadows in their 1st Round State match – and they didn’t. But with their athletic director Dale Nicol (“A.D.” at CSHS, 2001-2005) in the stands, the Lady Cougars played the Lady Falcons plenty tough in the first two games before losing 17-25, 18-25. CSHS Swimmers post solid showings at State

Head Coach Eric Niabch's "FalFins" swam solidly at last Saturday's Division II State Championships (Kino Junior High Pool - Mesa). Falcon Girls, paced by senior Belen Enguidano's 2nd place in the 100 yd. butterfly and 4th in the 500 yd. freestyle, placed 11th out of 34 entered schools, scoring 71 points. Boys, with 25 points, were 19th out of 43 enteries. Garrett Swanson's 7th in 50 yd. freestyle and 6th in 100 yd. backstroke led the Guys.
