As Hollywood celebrates Box Office surges at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, Desert Foothills Theater (DFT) will host its 2nd Annual “Oscar Night: Turning the Oscar Party on its Head” event on Sunday, March 7 from 5 – 11 p.m.
“Once again, we’re hosting a fun evening featuring everything opposite of a traditional Oscar® Night Party,” said Meribeth Reeves, DFT’s managing director. “Enjoy the ceremony broadcast with commercials pre-empted by DFT live entertainment. Come dressed in your Hollywood finest or cowboy boots. It’s up to you! This year’s party has a Godfather theme.”

Well-known DFT actors Michael Stewart, Roy Hunt and Mike Duhame will bring their fabulous comedic skills to bear as emcees of the live portion of the evening. The cast from DFT's production of City of Angels will also perform during the pre-show cocktail hour. And, of course, the Academy Awards will be televised on a large projection screen and several flat-screen TVs.

Advance tickets cost $35 per person. ($40 at the door). These tickets include dinner, entertain-ment and soft drinks. VIP tickets are available for $60 (seated in tables of 10) and include goody bags for each person, a bottle of Coppola wine at each table, preferred seating, VIP check-in and more. Proceeds benefit the Desert Foothills Theater and DFT Gecko Teatro youth theater program.
