Obituary

Barry Michael Wood

Barry Michael Wood was found dead on August 3, 2009 in Cave Creek of natural causes. He was 69 years old.

Mike was an intellectual and his brilliance at computers, electrical and general ranch duties were respected through out the community. He was always kind to and caring of everyone. His patience and helpfulness were extraordinary. When friends’ computers would crash, he always welcomed technical support phone calls.

He lived on the Smith Ranch where he cared for Skylar, Wild Bill, companion dogs and Clint and Ricky, two Arabian Horses. He was courageous and loved the animals. Prior to the Smith Ranch, he worked at Luigi’s and Bob Cain’s. Prior to Cave Creek, he worked with his father, Art, in land development in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margo Wood who was a fashion designer and his father, Art, who was a prominent real estate broker in Phoenix. His Godfather was Barry Goldwater, whom he is named after.

Little is known about his siblings who were half brother, Art, and half sisters, Pat and Betty. He was an only child. One known relative is a nephew, Butch Patrick, an actor in Los Angeles who was best noted in The Munsters and Harry Potter.

Judging by the correspondence The Smith Ranch has been receiving about his death, the entire town of Cave Creek mourns his loss.
