breaking newsAn unidentified white male walked into the Circle K at 6210 E. Cave Creek Rd. early Wednesday morning, slapped the clerk and made off with packs of cigarettes. The suspect is still at large.

In an unrelated incident, a collision involving a Lexus on Cave Creek Rd., just north of New River Rd., is under investigation.

Town manager’s contract renewal likened to circus

CAVE CREEK – There was hostility in the air as council proceeded to discussion of renewing Town Manager Usama Abujbarah’s contract.

Vice Mayor Gilbert Lopez dove right in with a barrage of questions, beginning with, “How did we construct a water tank on someone else’s property without ownership?”

Abujbarah said, “We are not here to discuss that. We are here to discuss my performance and contract.” MORE...

CAVE CREEK – In light of a potential violation of the state open meeting law by Councilwoman Grace Meeth, whereas she sent a memo to Mayor Vincent Francia and copied council members regarding the extraction of guidelines from the zoning ordinance, citing “We merely removed parts of our ordinance … and moved them into a separate document and relabeled them guidelines.”

CAVE CREEK – Barry Worman of Donor Network of Arizona did a brief presentation to the town about how people can register to become organ donors and said, “There are 99,000 people waiting for transplants and 19 die every day waiting. He asked people to consider giving the gift of life and said, “We do save lives every day.”
