CAREFREE – Four citizens have taken out paperwork seeking election to the Carefree Town Council on March 10.

Citizen Peter Koteas, activist John Traynor, Planning and Zoning Commission Susan Vanik and downtown business owner Doug Stavoe must submit the signatures of 40 registered Carefree voters to Town Clerk Betsy Wise by Dec. 10 to qualify for the March 10 ballot.

These four candidates will join council incumbents Bob Coady, Wayne Fulcher, Greg Gardner, Bob Gemmill, Glenn Miller, Lloyd Meyer and David Schwan on the ballot.

Any council candidate who does not receive 50 percent, plus one, of the total ballots cast in March must also compete in the May 19 general election, according to Wise.
