SCOTTSDALE – Neighbor-hood artists Pamela Mangelsdorf and Terrie Grasse have enjoyed having an art expo across the street from their Monte de Paz homes the last few years.

MontedePazThe two painters who live in the area of Scottsdale and Jomax roads decided they would have a neighborhood art show of their own. They will hold the Monte de Paz Art Show and Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 26609 N. 71st Place.

The two water colorists invite art lovers to “come and support your local neighborhood artists” at the Saturday show, which came into being after watching the success of the art expo across the street and the knowledge there are many other artists in the neighborhood.

“We decided we could do our own art show in the backyard,” Grasse said.

The Nov. 1 art show will serve as a tune up for Mangelsdorf, who will have her work on display at Studio 28 (Ceil Goslin) in Carefree during the Sonoran Art League’s Hidden in the Hills studio tour the weekends before and after Thanksgiving (Nov. 21 – 23 and 28 – 30).

Mangelsdorf was able to turn her childhood passion for drawing and painting into a full-time career. Known for her vivid realism, her paintings range from wildlife to still life.

Grasse expresses her artistic talent in her own unique style, which features a graphic presentation of watercolor techniques.
