Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my appreciation to you for printing Larry Binkowski’s story of serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. The article brought back lots of memories for me as a high school graduate in 1971. I never understood why some people chose to reject the service of our soldiers in a horrible war and instead of thanking them for risking their lives, made them feel they were hated. Something in the heart of America started to go wrong during that time.
I’m so glad that Larry was able to get through the many hard years between his military service to his rightful place today as a well respected and loved American who we honor for all that he gave for this great country. He is what truly makes America great and I thank him for his service!
