Beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and sister, Gail Hammer departed this life in the early hours of Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born June 27, 1938 in Bridgeport, CT to Richard Webster Harding and Almonde Frances (Hillock) Harding. Gail married George Joseph Hammer on October 11, 1968. The two celebrated their 53rd anniversary over a candlelit dinner less than two days prior to her passing.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Joseph Hammer, and brother Richard Harding. She is survived by her husband George; son Michael Hammer (Becky Harvey) of Makoti, ND; daughter Melissa Hammer (Peter von der Linde) of Basking Ridge, NJ; son Max Hammer (Sarah Elkins) of Lewisburg, WV, sister Gracia Harding Sears, brother Harvard Harding (Ruth), and brother Willard Cousin Harding (Faith). She leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, November 6 at 10:00 am at St. Gabriel of the Archangel Catholic Church in Cave Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
