Upscale Singers to debut new-look Christmas concert

The Upscale Singers, Scottsdale’s premier adult choir, are throwing three Christmas parties this year, and the community is invited.

“Home for the Holidays” is scheduled for consecutive Sundays, Dec. 8 and 15, at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, 34605 N. Scottsdale Road, and Saturday, Dec. 14, at a new venue for the group, the ASU Kerr Cultural Center, 6110 N. Scottsdale Road. Tickets for Desert Hills Presbyterian are available at or by calling 1-800-838-3006. Tickets for the ASU Kerr Cultural Center performance are available by calling 480-596-2660.

Rather than the traditional choral concert the Upscale Singers are known for, the show will be more of a sing-along around the piano, typical of a Christmas party in a home. The Upscale Singers and the Upscale Kids will be singing both traditional and new arrangements of old favorites as well as selections from Bruce Springsteen and The Manhattan Transfer, and the audience will get a chance to sing along, too.

Plans also are in the works for the Upscale Singers’ spring concerts, “Broadway Bound.” The Kerr Center again will one of the venues, on April 18, and performances also are scheduled for March 29 at Desert Mountain Golf Club and April 25-26 at Holland Cabaret Theater, 34250 N. 60th St.

The Upscale Singers are a 501-c(3) nonprofit organization. Funds raised from ticket sales and the annual silent auction and raffle held in the spring support operational costs and our four youth outreach programs.
