State’s Tallest Fresh-Cut Christmas Tree Arrives October 24

For the 18th consecutive year, Outlets at Anthem is kicking off the holiday season as it welcomes the state’s largest fresh-cut Christmas tree!

The visually exciting event includes delivery of the 80-foot tree on an enormous flatbed trailer followed by its placement with a heavy-duty construction crane into a base where it will be on display for the holiday season. The arrival is a fantastic spectacle anticipated by television audiences across the Valley year after year.

The tree’s projected arrival time is 6:30 a.m.

Depending on wind, news stations may fly over the tree arrival site or direct a drone for impressive video of the tree being lifted into place around 7:45 a.m.

ADDITIONAL INFO & TREE FACTS:

This year’s tree is 80-feet tall topped with a 3-foot copper star (a nod to the state’s official metal)

The tree’s width is approximately 20-feet across

The tree traveled from the California/Oregon border

More than 1.5 miles of LED lights (approximately 10,000 bulbs) are used to illuminate the tree

More than 5,000 ornaments and bows decorate the tree

To secure the tree, it is lowered into a specially designed, permanent 3-foot-wide by 7-foot-deep well.

Six guy-wires are attached to the top portion of the tree to keep it steady and secure throughout the holiday season.

Nearly 120 gallons of fire retardant is sprayed on the tree for safety.

The completed tree will weigh close to four tons
