On 07/11/2019, at approximately 1105pm, gunshots were fired at Bruno’s Bar and Grill in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Further investigation revealed two males were engaged in a verbal/physical altercation at the same location. One of the males produced a handgun. He ultimately shot and killed the other male involved in the altercation. The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Christopher Charles Ruether of Fountain Hills. The decedent has been identified as 28-year-old Matthew Dylan Gilmore. This is still an active, open investigation. More details will be released at a later date when it can be done without jeopardizing the integrity of the investigation and prosecution of the case.
Christopher Charles Ruether was booked into the 4th Avenue jail for one count of manslaughter and one count of discharging a firearm in city limits. Christopher is in MCSO custody at this time.
