July Story Time

Storykids Family Storytime
Children 2-6 and families are encouraged to join us for a 30-45 minute storytime featuring music, movement, craft & stories. Siblings are welcome. July 16th will be a special Reach for the Stars storytime event with special guest, Fairy Godmother. Replacing storytime on July 30th will be a Glow in the Dark Craft Program & Summer Reading Wrap Up.

Baby & Toddler Lapsit
Geared to children 10 months to 3 years, join us for a fun 25-minute romp with music, books, rhymes, fingerplays, and bubbles. There will be no storytime July 4th as the library will be closed.

Discovery Playdate: Preschool Playtime
Discovery playdate is unstructured playtime for children up to age 6 at Desert Foothills Library. This constructive free play is a great time to socialize with other children. Activities will rotate and include several of the following: sensory activities, water table, building toys and manipulatives, STEM and technology toys, board books, art activities, and games. No registration necessary.

Silly Sandwiches & Stories

Stories in the Stars Performance
Soar through the stars in this performance based on the Greek Myths! Travel the night sky and explore various constellations and legends about why there are in the sky. Audiences will delight in learning stories of the wind, seasons, sun, and moon. This new play is designed for the Summer Reading theme “A Universe of Stories”. Spirit Camp: Summer Mindfulness Camp
Join wellness experts Dr. Benenson and Sharon Spector for this camp at Desert Foothills Library. Children ages 7-11 will deepen their inner awareness through singing, dancing, crafts, and storytelling. They will learn how to develop inner super powers by learning mindfulness activities, especially focus, kindness, and taming emotions.
