We will miss Towne Dump

We moved to Arizona in 1970 and it did not take us long to discover Cave Creek and Carefree.  They were so wonderful, small, very western, artsy, horsey and friendly.  Not to mention quiet and peaceful. We started visiting the Towne Dump every time we visited Cave Creek.  It was so much fun and unusual. Over the years we bought really unique Mexican pottery and western furniture like benches, welcome signs and many other unusual items. We always brought people visiting us to the store.

We are so sad to see it close and loose another part of the Cave Creek culture.  All the things we loved so much about Cave Creek and Carefree are disappearing and being replaced by bars .  The noise is deafening on the weekends from the motorcycles and bands blasting.  No longer is it safe to ride your horse to town.  Trying to navigate around the people staggering across Cave Creek from one bar to another is nerve racking.

So, so long Towne Dump and thank you for the fun of visiting you over so many decades.  We will miss you.
