Arabian Horse Association of Arizona will bring majestic horses in costume; artists will sketch and paint on canvas and also paint a horse with safe, water soluble paint

SCOTTSDALE – Patrons visiting the Arizona Fine Art EXPO will get a rare chance to see magnificent Arabian horses up close prior to the 64th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show during “Up Close with Arabian Horses” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.

The non-profit Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, which produces the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, also known as “The Greatest Horse Show on Earth,” will bring one horse in costume and another horse which will be painted by several artists with safe, water soluble paint. In addition, artists will sketch, draw and paint horses on canvas.

“The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has grown from 50 horses to nearly 2,400 horses, bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world to compete for a chance to win,” said Judith Combs, co-founder and partner of the Arizona Fine Art EXPO. “We are very grateful to the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona for giving our patrons a chance to see these radiant horses up close, learn about their history, and see how artists recreate their striking beauty.”

Taryl O’Shea, executive director of the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, said the January 26 EXPO event will be fun and educational.

“In addition to producing the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, we work throughout the year to support charities, such as Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, Horses Help TRC, March of Dimes, Scottsdale Community College and Youth for Troops,” O’Shea said.
