PHOENIX — ​Arizona’s 2019 Inauguration ceremony will take place on Monday, January 7th, at 10:00 a.m. at the State Capitol. In addition to the swearing-in of all six state elected officials, the event will include additional ceremonial features and be followed by activities like the Taste of Arizona Success 2019 and Explore Arizona Fair at Wesley Bolin Plaza.

Program Details

The program will include the pre- and post-inauguration music from the Arizona National Guard 108th Army band, a Joint Color Guard of the Arizona National Guard and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, an F-16 flyover, and a musical interlude by renowned Native American flutist, Jonah Littlesunday. The master of ceremonies is the Honorable Robert Uribe, Mayor of Douglas, Arizona. 

In honor of the late Congressman Pastor, Governor Ducey and the First Lady have asked Congressman Pastor’s grandchildren, Eddie Cotto, Sophia Cotto, Frankie Rivera and Alexis Lopez, to say the Pledge of Allegiance. 

The 2019 Inaugural Ceremony will be followed by the Taste of Arizona Success 2019 event on the Capitol Lawn. This event will highlight ten unique restaurants in our state who will present their own culinary flare for guests to sample. 

Wesley Bolin Plaza will feature the Explore Arizona Fair, a free and family-friendly event, where the public can visit with all of our local sports teams and their mascots, discover exciting cultural attractions and learn more about the essential services provided by state agencies including by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Arizona Game and Fish, Arizona State Parks and Trails and more. 

The Explore Arizona Fair will also include the Governor’s Showcase consisting of over 300 educators and students from career and technical education schools across the state who will proudly demonstrate the technical and workforce skills they are learning in their classrooms. Culinary students will provide samples of the delicious recipes they are cooking up for the Inauguration.
