CCUSD teacher achieves and counselor renews National Board Certification

Brian Rinderknect, Melissa Beverly

Cave Creek Unified School District is proud to announce our newest National Board Certified Teachers(NBCT)!  National Board Certification is a voluntary advanced teaching credential that complements a state’s teacher license. It is valid for 5 years, after which NBCTs can seek certification renewal.  Only 3% of teachers in the United States are National Board Certified.  In Cave Creek, our percentage is 7%, double the national percentage.

Cave Creek Unified School District is proud to present our newest National Board Certified Teacher Mr. Brian Rinderknect, who is a 5th grade teacher at Lone Mountain Elementary School, Middle Child Generalist; and a renewal of NBCT Certification for Mrs. Melissa Beverly, a counselor at Cactus Shadows High School, National Board Certified Counselor.

Currently, CCUSD has 8 more National Board Candidates working toward their certification and 3 more National Board Certified Teachers working toward their certificate renewal, with several more ready to investigate the process through our Pre-Candidacy course. We could not be prouder of the hard work and commitment of our new NBCTs, as well as all of our 19 NBCTs.  Needless to say, Cave Creek Unified teachers, and counselors, put students first, and are committed to excellence in their classrooms.  Dr. Debbi Burdick, Superintendent of CCUSD, has been a long standing advocate of National Board Certification, and is very proud of the teachers in CCUSD!

Cave Creek Unified School District is the number 1 school district in Maricopa County for student achievement.  For more information, please visit our website at www.ccusd93.org or call 480-575-2000.
