A house divided

Abe Lincoln foresaw the perils threatening a nation sharply divided then at a cost of more than half a million lives was able to bridge that divide reuniting the American union. In speaking to congress about our experiment in government he said, “Two points in it, our people have already settled – the successful establishing, and the successful administering of it. One still remains – its successful  maintenance against a formidable internal attempt to overthrow it.”
Could he have been speaking of his own time or looking into a troubled future- ours.

I believe that the current division began in the contentious 1960’s when disagreement begat violence interrupting civil discourse. Media and Democrat hatred for every Republican President beginning with Richard Nixon increased with Reagan, again with the Bush 41 & 43 has reached white hot with Donald Trump. President Trump has done great things for America all of which are denied by the Left in favor of their despise of his Tweets, demeaner and lack of polish. They emphasize the superficial while overlooking the substance. There is no pleasing Democrat leadership. So, the solution? Defeat them at the polls allowing Mr. Trump to continue to rack up successes in the economy, security and the courts until they are so undeniable, even to Democrats.

The United States, this house will stand with Mr. Trump.
