The Black Mountain Foothills Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution located in Carefree, Cave Creek, and surrounding areas, presented student awards at Bella Vista College Preparatory School on May 18th.

The Daughters of the American Revolution challenges students with an essay contests for grades 5th-12th about American History.

Two winners from Bella Vista, not only won for their schools but also came in first place in the state!  Arizona’s first place winners are Brenden Cakebread for 8th grade, and Eli Hoffman for the high school level!  Congratulations Brendon and Eli!

The Chapter also had the honor to recognize Isabelle Kuyper, teacher at Bella Vista with the Outstanding Teacher of American History Award for her dedication and creative methods to inspire students to learn about the founding of our country!
