Motorcycles and cheap prop planes

Three years ago when we moved to Carefree, it was actually possible to enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio and listen to birds and a soft breeze rustling through the trees. But now, noise from motorcycles and cheap prop airplanes fills the air. I can set my watch by the morning trainees at 7:05 flying over the Boulders. Then up until 10:00 AM or so, the hot dogs who love the pattern around the Boulders just can’t get enough. If they would actually fly by established patterns and safety standards, I wouldn’t call them hot dogs. But no, there was a white Bonanza that thought it would be such fun to buzz the boulder pile with a tight turn. Just yesterday, a single engine plane taking off from our local air patch showed so much prowess by turning left in a tight bank right over the middle of The Boulders before reaching a safe altitude. But just think of the whole minute that pilot saved before heading east. Our hats are off to you. Way to go!

The day will come when one of these inconsiderate knaves auger in through someone’s roof.  Everyone who has been told can think back on what was done — or not done.
