AEU leaders are political hacks trying to unseat our Governor. They tell the parents they want to get schools more money and raise the teacher’s salaries. Everyone agrees all teachers need pay raises. They made demands, the Governor agreed to the pay raise of 20% by 2020. But now that he has agreed and is working with the legislators to make it happen, the leaders of AEU are calling him a liar and bullying our teachers and school admin to strike! Now, they want funds for broken desks, newer books. Those demands need to be addressed by the district. How that district distributes the funds. How can you strike when you are getting your demands met? And please stop calling it a walk-in or walk-out. It is a strike! CCUSD93 is striking Thursday and Friday only; ONLY? A strike happens when negotiations have stalled or stopped and then you strike until they come to an agreement. All that is going to happen with a two day strike is losing the trust and goodwill of the community. Keep the kids in school, take the pay raise and be political over the summer!
