PHOENIX – Governor Doug Ducey will celebrate Read Across America Day with students and staff at Sierra Verde STEM Academy in the Deer Valley Unified School District on Friday, March 2.
During his visit, Governor Ducey will join students at Sierra Verde STEM Academy for a tour of the school’s integrated STEM programs. Sierra Vista STEM Academy places a high emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in addition to teaching CORE content areas. On a daily basis, teachers implement STEM-based learning across all curricula in an interdisciplinary, integrated, multi-classroom approach.
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.
