Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable proudly presents Peter Cozzens, “Cahaba: Humanity and Hope in a Southern Prison” at its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 6:40 pm at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library Auditorium.  The event is free and all are welcome.

Cozzens is the author or editor of seventeen books on the American Civil War and the American West.  All of his books have been selections of the Book of the Month Club, History Book Club, and/or the Military Book Club.  Civil War Magazine listed two of his works among their 100 greatest works ever written on the conflict.

He has been a frequent contributor to the New York Times and has written for America’s Civil War, Civil War Times Illustrated, MHQ, Cowboys & Indians, BBC World Histories, and Smithsonian, among other publications.

He recently retired from a thirty-year career as a Foreign Service Office, U.S. Department of State.  Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable meets the third Tuesday of every month (except June-July-August) at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library Auditorium, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale.  Speakers include well known Civil War experts from around the country. The SCWRT supports battlefield preservation through the Civil War Trust.
