Desert Foothills Lutheran Church will be holding its 11th Annual Book Sale on Friday Feb. 9 from 9 am to 2 pm; Saturday, Feb. 10 from 9 am to 2 pm and Sunday Feb. 11 from 10 am to noon at 29305 North Scottsdale Road in our fellowship hall. Please plan on stopping by the sale to pick up your reading supply for the long summer ahead. You will have 10s of 1,000s of books to choose from including paperbacks, hardbacks, cookbooks, children’s books, audio books, videos and DVDs. Because of a sizable donation we will be having a special sale price of $.50 on paperbacks. On Sunday we will once again be offering our “fill a bag” for $10 clearance sale. Everything you can fit in a paper grocery bag for only $10.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit our outreach programs, which enables DFLC to better serve the needs of our community as well as providing much needed financial assistance to established local groups through grants which enable them to fulfill their missions. In addition, the majority of books that remain after the sale will be made available to local community service groups for distribution to shelters, homes and care facilities across the valley. In the past 11 years some of the organizations we have provided donations and/or financial support to include: Foothills Caring Corp., Foothills Food Bank, Cave Creek Library, Central Arizona Emergency Shelter Services, Devereux Arizona, Habitat for Humanity and Vista Colina Emergency Family Shelter.
In preparation for the Book Sale, Desert Foothills is still accepting donations from the public of gently used paperbacks, hardbacks and audio books.
