Carefree Desert Gardens announces photo contest

CAREFREE — Calling all photographers! Our annual Carefree Desert Gardens photo contest is in full swing and photos submissions will be taken up to January 31. The purpose of the contest is to highlight the beauty of the gardens and to celebrate the many events, types of plants and nature that exists within Carefree’s town core.

Winners will be selected by renowned photographer Jerry Sieve, February 1st, and those winners will be displayed for people’s choice voting February 20 – 26 at the Desert Foothills Library. A winner will have their photo developed into a postcard to be displayed at Town events and available for purchase. All photos should be taken within the Carefree Desert Gardens in downtown Carefree and all photos may be submitted in either film or digital format. Submit print photos to the Carefree Desert Gardens drop locations at The UPS Store at 36889 N. Tom Darlington Drive, the UPS Store at Scottsdale Road and Carefree Highway, the UPS Store at 48th Street and Carefree Highway, or the CVS photo counter at Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Road. Entry forms may be obtained at each of these locations and at Carefree Town Hall at 8 Sundial Circle, or downloaded from the Town of Carefree website at www.carefree.org. It does not cost anything to enter the contest and participants are encouraged to submit any photos taken in the Garden, especially those during town events such as the recent Enchanted Pumpkin Garden and Christmas in Carefree.
