Dear Patrons of Desert Foothills Library,

As the year comes to an end, your Board of Directors, at Desert Foothills Library, is abundantly grateful for the financial and volunteer support you continue to show your library. THANK YOU for being an important part of “the library that everyone loves!”

You have helped us make significant strides raising an impressive $650,000,  toward a Capital Campaign goal of $1,100,000. Please stop by the library, for a tour, if you haven’t been by for a while. We think you will be impressed! Or, feel free to watch the short video at the end of this message.

As you reflect on what Desert Foothills Library means to you, and your family, we hope that we can count on you again. All gifts are important, tax deductible, and no gift is too small.

We want you to be aware of why you might want to give, or give again, before PROPOSED FEDERAL TAX LAW CHANGES MAY IMPACT YOUR YEAR END GIVING.

Proposals in the U.S. House and Senate significantly increase the standard deduction beginning in 2018. As a result, fewer people will itemize their tax deductions, and fewer, still, will be in a position to claim the charitable tax deduction as they have previously.

If you are planning to itemize in 2017, you may want to consider making a gift this calendar year to realize the tax benefit.  As with all your charitable decision making, please consider talking to your financial advisor about your own specific circumstances.

Happy Holidays,

David Court
Executive Director, Desert Foothills Library
