Kiwanis thanks volunteers

The Volunteers for the Kiwanis Marketplace would like to thank the following restaurants: The Buffalo Chip Saloon: owner, Larry Wendt; Indian Village Restaurant, owner Bart; The Grotto Café, owners Lou Ann Robertson and Curtis Arny; Harold’s Cave Creek Coral, owners Danny Piaquidio and Bill Vale and last but not least Venue’s Café, owner Catherine Marr.  These establishments graciously donated food for the Kiwanis Volunteer Appreciation dinner, held Nov. 6 at the Sanderson Pavilion in Carefree.

The dinner was enjoyed by approximately 70 Volunteers, who supply a workforce at the Kiwanis Marketplace on Cave Creek Road.  The Marketplace, a resale shop, donates all income to children’s educational programs.  The youth and community programs supported by the Kiwanis Marketplace annually provide nearly one million dollars for the area’s young citizens.

The outing on Nov. 6 was a show of support by the management of Kiwanis and local businesses to thank the myriad of volunteer supporters, who selflessly provide a voluntary cadre for the Kiwanian endeavor.
