I could not make it to Tuesday’s memorial for Jim Van Allen. But if I I had been there I would have said:
“I didn’t know JVA long but in the time that I did, I enjoyed our regular town discussions over ice cream. We did not agree on most things and that was okay with both of us but I learned a lot of the town’s history from him and got a perspective from the town merchants’ point of view.
I hope he is in heaven eating ice cream every day…for my part I will think of him whenever I enjoy a bowl or cone. I will miss him and so will the Town of Carefree.
I send my prayers and condolences to his wife, his friends, fellow council members and our town.”
