Spur Cross to Cave Creek Maricopa Trail Hike

Join Ranger Kevin from Spur Cross and Ranger Mark from Cave Creek Regional Park for a park to park hike on the Maricopa Regional Trail. The plan is to start with a group at each park and hike through to the other park meeting half way and exchanging rangers for the remainder of the hike. The hike will be approximately 11 miles in length and should take about five hours to complete. You are responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from each park. You may start from either park. If you wish to start at Cave Creek, meet Ranger Mark at the CC Nature Center and if you wish to start at Spur Cross, meet Ranger Kevin at the Spur Cross trailhead. Bring plenty of water and a snack. No dogs on this hike please.

Visit an abandoned gold mine, Nutcracker Rock, and a Hohokam rock art site along Cottonwood Wash. Bring plenty of water and your natural curiosity. Meet at the main Spur Cross trailhead area. No reservations required.
