FAIRFAX, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging the Senate to confirm Scott Garrett as the chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States:
“Scott Garrett is the ultimate swamp buster and he is exactly who should be running the Export-Import Bank. The corporate crony Ex-Im Bank needs to be led by someone who will stop the rubber stamp processing of loans, bringing a fresh view to ensure that the interests of the people of the United States are served rather than just the interests of the multi-national corporations using its U.S. incorporation to qualify. The truth is multi-national corporations have a rightful imperative to increase profitability and getting cheaper, guaranteed money for foreign deals will always make sense to them, even if the deals don’t make sense for America, their domestic competitors or American workers. Scott Garrett is the right choice to make certain that the Ex-Im Bank operates the way it should, protecting U.S. interests first, and he should be immediately confirmed to lead the Ex-Im Bank.”
