Music Director hired

Desert Hills Presbyterian Church announces the hiring of Jeffrey Anthony as Traditional Music Director. He has extensive experience in choral and instrumental conducting, choral performance, alto saxophone, clarinet, organ and piano performance. He has conducted community ensembles, presented at a variety of workshops and festivals, and received numerous honors. He has served at several churches as Music Minister, Director of Music, Choir Director and Organist. He has also taught in public schools in Arizona, Indiana, and Virginia. He holds a Master of Sacred Music-Choral Conducting degree from Luther Seminary, where he studied with Anton Armstrong at St Olaf College, Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from ASU, and Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University. Additional he has worked toward a Master of Divinity degree at Fuller and Luther seminaries.

Jeffrey has had success working with youth instrumentalists, dramatically increasing youth participation in every congregation served, largely through instrumental ensemble work. His expertise will blend well with the church’s vision of community outreach.
