Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center plans to hold a grand opening for its new Black Canyon City, Ariz., satellite location on Saturday, October 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM.

‘We want to invite everyone to see our new site, not just our clients,” says Pam DiPietro, executive director of Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center. “The food bank needs the help and support of the communities it serves as well.”

Pam DiPietro, executive director of Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center, says the grand opening celebration offers the food bank’s distinguished donors the opportunity to get to know the facility and its needs.

The satellite food bank is located at 34501 Old Black Canyon Freeway in Black Canyon City, Ariz., 85324 (exit 242), just west of the I-17. The food bank is open to clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

“Foothills Food Bank, which serves more than 2000 registered families, helps more than 500 families every month throughout its 180-mile radius,” adds DiPietro. “In the first four days we were open in Black Canyon City, we helped 139 families and at least 50 of the families had never been to the food bank before. We anticipate more growth now that the facility is open.”

Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center provides emergency food, financial assistance and other life necessities and resources to individuals and families in the desert foothills, which encompasses a 180-square mile area that includes Black Canyon City, Cave Creek, Carefree, Anthem, Desert Hills, New River, north Scottsdale and north Phoenix.
