D-backs announce details of Hispanic Heritage Day this Saturday

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Dbacks will host Hispanic Heritage Day, presented by Bud Light, this Saturday at Chase Field. Hispanic Heritage Day will feature a pregame D-backs Fiesta, presented by APS, and the first 20,000 fans will receive a Los D-backs Sugar Skull bobblehead, courtesy of Pepsi.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the D-backs Fiesta that features fun giveaways, live music by La Máxima Sonora, Folklorico dancers, Mariachi performers, interactive games, inflatables, food trucks and the Budweiser Beer Garden Experience. Located at Fourth St. and Jackson St., the D-backs Fiesta will begin at 2:00 p.m. and is free for fans of all ages.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day, D-backs players and coaches will wear Los D-backs jerseys for the 10th consecutive season which will be available for purchase at D-backs Authentics along the main concourse beginning Sept. 24. Net proceeds from the sale of all game-used items will benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation. D-backs players will also wear Ponle Acento shirts during batting practice.

Liga Mexicana del Pacífico executives will present team jerseys, representative of all the teams in the league, to D-backs players during a special pregame recognition. There will also be a special appearance by Liga Mexicana del Pacífico at the D-backs Fiesta and their team mascots and will be incorporated in several in-game elements throughout the night.

During a special pregame ceremony, the D-backs will present the Los D-backs Hispanic Leadership Award. The award recognizes an individual for their advocacy, leadership and service to the Arizona community.

This Saturday is also Roberto Clemente Day and the D-backs and Chevy will recognize the team’s nominee, Paul Goldschmidt, for his charitable contributions throughout the season prior to the start of the game.

The D-backs will recognize the Tuzos Academy 02 Boys soccer team during a special pregame recognition. The team participated in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Game held in July finishing as runner-up champion this season. The Tuzos Soccer Club is supported the D-backs and Managing Partner Ken Kendrick.

The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and Hensley Beverage Company will present a $5,000 check to Victoria Foundation during a pregame ceremony on the field.

Fans can enjoy face painters and piñatas at La Terraza throughout the night. La Terraza features a Latin vibe in the Upper Right Field Concourse that includes specialized décor, Latin music and authentic regional food from local favorites such as El Güero Canelo and La Carreta de Lily. Fans can also get Micheladas, a beer cocktail with lime juice, salt and tomato juice. The D-backs Street Team will be on site with a prize wheel, including prizes such as D-backs tickets, gift cards, T-shirts, posters, water bottles and ear buds.
