GILBERT – Congressman Andy Biggs called on President Donald Trump to pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio:

“On Tuesday, President Trump will make a highly-anticipated trip to Arizona, and I hope that he will follow through on his consideration to pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

“The Sheriff’s criminal conviction was the culmination of a political witch hunt by the Obama administration to sideline and destroy a formidable opponent. Eric Holder routinely used his Justice Department to intimidate patriotic Americans, even while stonewalling efforts by Congress to force transparency. While everyday Americans were concerned with Benghazi, Fast and Furious, abuse of power by the IRS, and much more, Eric Holder made it his personal mission to end Sheriff Arpaio’s attempts to uphold the laws that the federal government would not enforce.

“Sheriff Arpaio has been a faithful servant of this nation for over six decades. He should be allowed to live out the rest of his days in peace and confidence that his efforts were not in vain. I encourage President Trump to pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio.”
