STATEMENT OF NATIONAL CENTER for POLICE DEFENSE on SHERIFF ARPAIO

WASHINGTON, DC— NCPD statement:

“Sheriff Joe Arpaio, with over 55 years of law enforcement experience, has once again been humiliated by the residuals left behind by the Obama Justice Department and Obama Federal Court Appointees. Sheriff Arpaio always followed the law and when did the law change granting illegal aliens the right to stay in the United States illegally? Sheriff Arpaio did what he did for his 24 years as Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona; he removed individuals that were in the United States illegally from the streets of Arizona, many of which were hardened criminals and gang members. Now the system of laws that he upheld has turned its back on Sheriff Arpaio and won’t even afford him a Jury Trial so that he can be judged by his peers for protecting and serving Maricopa County for 24 year” says Jim Fotis, President of National Center for Police Defense.

The National Center for Police Defense (NCPD) is a non-profit dedicated to helping law enforcement officers that have been charged with a crime while following, “to the best of their ability”, the training and knowledge that they have been taught to use, by their departments.

James J. Fotis has a long career of experience as an informed, decisive leader and an analytical, proactive problem solver. He served more than twenty-three years as the Executive Director of the Law Enforcement Alliance of America (LEAA); an association of law enforcement officers, crime victims and concerned citizens.
