PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey ordered flags around the state lowered to half-staff in honor of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agent Edgard Garcia, who was killed in a car accident:

“Our state mourns the loss of Agent Edgard Garcia. Agent Garcia took an oath to defend our country and keep our communities safe. He carried out that oath dutifully and with honor, and for that we are forever grateful. We are able to live our lives in freedom and peace thanks to the sacrifices of Agent Garcia and countless others like him. To honor his life and service, I have ordered flags be lowered to half-staff. My deepest condolences go out to Agent Garcia’s family, fellow agents and loved ones during this difficult time.”
