Brooks to unveil painting of an old Cave Creek truck

Local artist, Virginia Brooks, has much to celebrate this season. Virginia’s popular Come Paint With Me art lessons at her Carefree studio are in their 10th year this November. And Virginia is one of the artists who founded The Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour, which has its 20th anniversary this month.

“I thought it would be fun to celebrate our 20 years of Hidden in the Hills by painting a celebratory painting. When I first moved to Carefree in 1995 I fell in love with the old cars and trucks I often saw in the area. One of our early Studio Tour covers was the yellow pickup in my current ad. For our 20th anniversary of the studio tour I will be exhibiting a new oil painting of an old Cave Creek truck. On the first Friday of the tour, November 18 at 1 p.m. I will ask a studio visitor to do the honor of unveiling the framed painting in my studio.”

The open studio tour is a good opportunity to stop by Virginia’s studio, see her work and how she teaches painting. “My painters have a choice in how they set up their classes. I teach both private and semi-private lessons. Everything is included so there is no need to purchase painting materials in order to try oils. I also do local workshops and hold painting parties for special occasions.

Virginia is the host of studio #41 on the Hidden in the Hills studio map, at 7402 Sundance Trail in Carefree. Come for a visit during Hidden in the Hills and see the very newest “old Truck.”
