Weekly Bingo

Every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Holland Community Center. Open to the public with bingo cards starting at $13. October 27 is Trick or Treat Theme Day. Raffle prizes and $375+ paid out weekly. Cards go on sale at 1:00 p.m. Visit ww.azfcf.org for more information. Place: FCF-HCC Quail Room.

T.G.I.F. Tasters Club

Friday, November 18, Flavored Oils and Vinegars. Merle Lehman, Owner, Gourmet Blends AZ, Distributor (Gourmet Blends) will present the best barrel aged balsamic vinegars and citrus or herb fused olive oils. Attendees will sample unique flavors to enhance all levels of their dining experience and learn tips about purchasing gourmet oils and vinegars locally. $20 per person. Register at azfcf.org. International Film Festival

Friday, November 11 – The Vanishing (Netherlands, NR; 105 min), Rex and Saskia, a young couple taking a road trip to France, stop at a gas station and rest stop Saskia disappears without a trace. Rex obsessively struggles to find out what happened to her. Three years later, he begins to receive letters from a man claiming to have kidnapped her, fueling with great intensity Rex’s quest for Saskia in a plot that turns more twisted than he could have imagined. Gary Zaro, Director of “The Film Festival at PVCC” main campus, introduces the Festival’s international Mystery and Suspense Thrillers film to the Holland Community Center and conducts a post-film discussion. Morning Joe With ‘TED’

Tuesday, November 1, Exploring Politics through the TED medium. See short videos (under 20 minutes) of speakers talking about ‘political theory’. Host Mark Sweeney facilitates open discussion after each video. Cost: $2. Time: 8:30 – 10:30 AM. Place: FCF-HCC Quail Room. Walk-ins welcome or pre-register at www.azfcf.org.

Art Opening at the Holland Gallery of Fine Art– Driven to Abstraction

Pat Cain’s and Marty Gibson’s grand art opening exhibit showing in the Holland Gallery of Fine Art from October 29 – December 2. See how the power of abstract painting lies within its ambiguity and expresses a shift from the outward self to self-reflecting. Meet the artists during this free reception. The Healthy Brain EXPO: Keeping your Brain Growing, Active and Strong

Fire-up your brain! The Healthy Brain Expo explores how to keep your brain engaged, creative and strong. There will be nine workshops, speakers, and tabletop exhibits on nutrition, neurosciences, mental exercises and mind/body awareness for your benefit. A fun and exciting event to help keep mentally young all your life. Sponsored by HonorHealth, Barrow Neurological Institute, Foothills Community Foundation, The UPS Store Cave Creek and Carefree, and the Desert Foothills YMCA.
