If you ask any millennial and most adults “Who was Edgar Cayce?” you would get a blank stare. Cayce is often called the sleeping prophet and was heralded in the 20th century. He organized the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), an existing organization located in Virginia Beach. He was born on March 18, 1877 and died on January 3, 1945.

There are abundant books sold by the ARE and elsewhere and members of ARE received regular journals. Searching online also returns voluminous results.
Cayce is famous for many things; he received his psychic information while in a trance state. He was a strong Christian and had spiritual playmates while young. He made many predictions, the most famous of which are below:
1. The greater portion of Europe will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.
2. There will be a shifting of the poles.
3. There will come a time when the sun will be darkened.
4. The city of Atlantis will be found near Bimini.
5. The records of Atlantis will be open to those that are the spiritual initiates.
6. A new field of science will be developed based on a psychic/spiritual phenomenon.
7. A “City of Gold” will be discovered in the Gobi Desert.
8. New York State’s east coast and New York City itself will disappear.
9. America’s west coast will be destroyed.
10. Cayce envisioned that a time would come when all individuals would realize their responsibility toward one another; this will be a realization that will change the mass-thought of humans.
Although he gave personalized readings to many people, including health and means of correcting diseases, his most common suggestion was meditation. Cayce was a lifetime Christian and while in trance had met and communed with Jesus Christ.
Cayce was a firm believer in reincarnation and would trace out his past lifetimes as well as Jesus’ past lifetimes. He often gave life readings to clients and sometimes the past lives affected various parts of people’s lives in this dimension. There were many proofs of the truth of his access to people and he could give readings at a long distance from his client. He would even discuss the furnishing in houses in California as he waited to communicate with a person.
Some think Atlantis was a myth. Cayce gave detailed information about the island as large as Europe with advanced technology. Cayce postulated aircraft and a power source and two political powers, one good and one bad. He said the island sunk in three phases and survivors of the third sinking went to Egypt with some of their technology. He also claimed Bimini is the site of a previously important Atlantis location.
Cayce himself in a previous incarnation as Ra Ta was the ruler of Egypt at that time.
Cayce was able to give FDR the bad news that he would soon die.
He also predicted that the 44th President of the United States would be black and would push the nuclear button. Of course, Obama is our president (sadly) and what is scary is that he only has only three more months in office. Freeze the access before it is too late!
