YAL leader appears on Fox after Free Speech lawsuit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In case you missed it, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) leader Nicole Sanders appeared on Fox News Channel to discuss her recent victory settling a free speech lawsuit filed after her university told her that signs promoting the Bill of Rights needed “special permission.”

“I am happy that Blinn College agreed to make important changes to its student speech policies that not only bring them in line with the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but also make it less likely that students will have their rights trampled on in the future. As opposed to stifling our protected rights, we encourage college administrators across the country to re-read our Constitution. Universities should be a safe place for open dialogue and YAL’s National Fight for Free Speech campaign is paving the way to ensure that our First Amendment right remains protected – not just on college campuses but everywhere in America,” Sanders said.
