PMAZ expands its artistic staff

After a regional search, Artistic Director Dr. Adam Stich announced, “It is my pleasure to introduce to you Arash Ertefai. Arash will be joining us this year as our Assistant Orchestra Conductor. He is an accomplished conductor, violinist and violist. At Northern Arizona University, he earned both the Masters of Music in Violin Performance and Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting. I hope you will join us in welcoming him this season. Arash will be a wonderful addition to our ProMusica Arizona organization.”

Prior appointments include Assistant Conductor of the NAU Orchestras, Music Director of the Flagstaff Chamber Players, Assistant Conductor of the NAU Academy Orchestra and Apprentice Conductor of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. During his time at NAU, he conducted full performances of four operas including Le Nozze di Figaro and Trial By Jury as well as countless symphonic concerts. He has conducted orchestras across the country and around the world including, the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, St. Michel Strings (Finland), Pärnu City Orchestra (Estonia) and the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, among others.

Arash currently performs with the Zenith Quartet, a quartet he founded in 2015 upon returning to the Phoenix area. He also is the strings conductor for the BASIS school in Chandler.
